Homebaked CLT appoints new Chair of the Board
Homebaked CLT are pleased to announce Andrew Beattie as the new Chair of the Board.
Appointed at the 2023 Annual General Meeting in November, Andrew has been a longstanding member of the organisation, and involved in many different capacities over the years, including as a board member. He replaces previous chair Ralph Bullivant, who had served as chair since 2017.
Of the departing chair, CLT Secretary and Project Manager Tom Murphy said: “Ralph has played an invaluable role in keeping the ship steady in turbulent periods throughout the history of the organisation, and we are extremely grateful for his contribution.”
Departing Chair Ralph Bullivant said: “There have been ups and downs during my time with Homebaked CLT, but we are on the cusp of great things. I’m confident that with the board that’s in place, and under Andrew’s leadership, we will be able to deliver on all of our ambitions.”
Heading into 2024, Homebaked CLT will continue to deliver its ‘More than Bricks and Mortar’ programme of activities and events, including seasonal community fairs, and the Cosy Homes Club energy efficiency programme. Alongside this, the focus will continue to be on the development of Oakfield Terrace.
With key developments on the horizon, Tom Murphy said: “We believe Andrew has the right insight, drive and approach to take the organisation to the next phase.”
Andrew’s experience with social benefit organisations, as well as his in depth knowledge of the CLT and commitment to our guiding principle that we all deserve to live well, puts him in a great position to take the organisation forward with renewed energy.
Incoming Chair Andrew Beattie said: “I’m really privileged to take on the role of chair and support the organisation in this new role. I’m constantly bowled over and amazed by the spirit, creativity and drive that powers Homebaked CLT, and I’m really excited to work with everyone moving forward. We have lots of exciting things coming up and when we look back in a year or so’s time, all we’ve achieved won’t be a result of the work that I, or any of us do on our own, but as a product of collaboration. It will really take all of us to push forward and make it all happen.”
